Hakone Ekiden (round-trip university relay race between Tokyo and Hakone) is a competition race (regional competition) held every 1 days 2 days / 3 days 2 days.

The course is a round-trip 10 section from the Yomiuri Newspaper Tokyo headquarters building in Otemachi, Tokyo, through the relay stations of Tsurumi, Totsuka, Hiratsuka and Odawara, to the lake Ashinoko in Hakone-machi, Kanagawa prefecture.

1月2日8:00AMに東京をスタートし、箱根までの往路(1~5区間:107.5 km)、1月3日8:00AMに箱根をスタートし、東京までの復路(6~10区間:109.6 km)、計217.1 kmを、各大学の想いがこもった襷を10名の選手がつないで走ります。

Participating schools are 20 schools (of the Kanto Collegiate Schools, the university 10 school which acquired the seed right within the overall rank order 10 place in the previous year's competition and the university 10 school which passed the preliminaries) Kanto student coalition team (open participation) by athletes other than participate.
In addition, at the annual memorial event of 5 year, there will be a quota of "Kanto Incarve" grading frame.

From Odawara station east exit number 3 platform, H route to Hakone-machi port 60 minutes × 1,180 yen

1 Moon 3 days can get to Lake Ashinoko while watching the Ekiden Course just by getting on the bus from Odawara station 6: 15. (It may be difficult to sit because the bus is crowded with people watching the Ekiden)

Go down the bus at "Moto-Hakone" and watch the cheering team of each university and walk to the start point, it will be just right before the start.
